As you know, this week, my theme song is Michael Jackson's "Jam". As I'm writing this, I'm doing some serious chair dancing choreography at my desk. If someone were to walk by right now, I think I'd be the joke of the office today. Probably should get up and close my door.
Anyway, as a result of my new found theme song (thanks again, Dad), I've decided to start a theme song playlist on my iPod. So far, I've got:
"I Was Born To Reign" by Will Smith - This song is about two minutes long and is a great pick me up when I'm on my way to do something that requires me to be super confident.
"Stayin' Alive" by The Bee Gees - C'mon. No matter who you are, this makes you strut down the street like your stuff don't stink.
"Yes We Can" by The Pointer Sisters - The lyrics are strong and the groove is infectious.
Help me out here. What are your theme songs? What songs do you listen to when you need to strut your stuff? When you need to be super confident? When you just need to make it through?

"You're So Vain" by Carly Simon always gets me sassy. LOL "I'm Walkin' on Sunshine"...."I Will Survive"....I guess it really all depends on what I'm getting "excited" for. :) I agree with ca that "Lose Yourself" is a definite pumper upper.
This is my woman power song. I have a serious problem sitting still when this comes on. Serious. No matter where I am I have to move. Playing this on my iPod while at work wasn't the smartest thing I've ever done. Imagine the 8 months pregnant woman GETTIN' it in her chair...yeah, that was me.

I've been thinking about this since you posted and I've decided I'm not very good at theme songs. If I'm lucky, I get semi-appropriate "mood music".
Usually though, just random tidbits in my head. Today I alternated between "if you want to destroy my sweater" and "raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens". Not very inspirational. :(
I am sick of holiday music. It won't stop! And I need an angry song for me today - any suggestions?
TeeksMom, a good angry song....hmmmm...angry about what? The only time I listen to music to "pump up" my anger is when some man has done me wrong. Tons of those songs. Let me know what you're looking for.
CA, yes, Eminem got us through the bar, didn't it? :) I can only relate to the Kindred song through you, but I do relate. I'm sure my SITS Girls will appreciate those lyrics.

SimonSez, yes, I too am groovin' to "Single Ladies" these days. Yeah, he shoulda put a ring on it. :) I've always been a fan of "Ain't No Stopping Us Now". I've got a great Bill Bradley story related to that song that I'll save for another posting.
